Finding a bluegrass festival can be the tricky part. ~smile~ We all piled in my Tahoe and drove
for MILES back into the woods. And just when I thought we were truly lost, we came upon
a clearing. I was surprised to find a well-kept memorial park complete with concrete sidewalks
and a a concession stand loaded with treats, (that's where Papa stayed a lot, but don't tell him I
told you)! People come in RV's, campers, cars and trucks, pulling out folding chairs and blankets
to gather on the hillside and hear the good music.

Here's Papa and Mama. Now, don't let Papa fool you. For some reason the man just won't smile
for a camera, but he is VERY happy. He grinned and tapped his foot the whole evening and for
Papa that's all out dancing!

Phil and I smile for the camera! Did I mention this little getaway was for our
22nd wedding anniversary? He's a sweetheart! I'd marry his all over again. *grin*

Here's a shot of the stage where the different bands appear. I wish I could
tell you the name of this group, but Papa's out of town and I can't find my
notes. :-(

Papa, Cyndie, Me and Phil, four little monkeys all in a row. Notice the campers. People come to this festival from all over the states!

Okay, now we're getting to the good part! On one of my trips to the concession
stand, (for Papa, you understand, not me, *grin*), I happened upon the next
generation of Wootens practicing hard for their shot at fame. This is little
Ms. Eve tuning up with her little sister Grace.

Eve plays many instruments, all on cue. Here she is on the guitar...

And now the bass...If you'll notice, it's Grace's job to just sit there
and look
cute. Doesn't she do a good job?

Time to sing a few bars...

Check out the big finish!

Oh, well, we'll look for this group in a few years. I'm sure their names
will be up in lights. I'm serious. Ricky Skaggs, to name just one big star,
got his start in just such festivals. You go Wooten girls! We'll be watching.
Hugs,
Shellie
